Ian Andrews, acting dean of education and director of International Teacher Education at SFU, received the 2002 Internationalization Leadership Award from the Canadian Bureau for International Education. Dr. Andrews is recognized around the world for his lifetime commitment to international teacher training and internationalization of post-secondary institutions.
At SFU, he has been instrumental in increasing faculty and student involvement in diverse international educational activities, such as faculty and student exchanges, and teaching training programs in Trinidad and Mexico.
The Canadian Bureau for International Education is a non-governmental organization comprising 200 universities, colleges, schools, school boards, educational organizations and businesses across Canada. The Internationalization Leadership Award recognizes leaders in the internationalization of Canadian education and the international education profession beyond their home campus.
