Trudeau scholar
PhD candidate Robert Huish received a prestigious Trudeau Foundation scholarship and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council doctoral scholarship to further his study of health inequalities in Latin America.

The geographer is investigating how well graduates of Cuba’s Latin American School of Medicine are able to provide equitable, participatory health care when they return to practice in their rural home communities. The school trains poor students in Latin America to become qualified physicians.

The Trudeau Foundation, named after former Canadian prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, encourages public debate and supports exceptional academic research on issues of public policy.
