SFU Research Gateway
SFU Research Gateway is the university's Research Administration System. Starting in early 2019, Simon Fraser University will commence its gradual implementation of a series of interlinked software products, hosted at the SFU Data Centre.
What is it?
SFU Research Gateway is a customized commercial product that provides faculty with a web-based grant and contract submission and approval process. It incorporates automated workflow, replacing both the 'Signature Sheet' and the laborious process of obtaining signatures.
Essentially, it will replace the existing Ethics Database and the pre-award functionality of Grant Track.
The system will undergo a staged implementation. Starting in early 2019, SFU will be gradually launching the system, beginning with the Human Ethics application management module. Subsequent modules—including grants pre-award administration—are scheduled to launch throughout 2020.
The new system will be designed to benefit researchers, graduate students and administrative staff involved in managing and applying for grants and ethics applications.
