Guidelines:

  1. Summarize your research program and progress: Provide a concise overview of your research program and broader vision. Emphasize your notable achievements and milestones attained, drawing upon relevant evidence from grant reports, tenure and promotion letters, and your professional bio.

  2. Highlight relevant achievements: Focus on highlighting achievements that are most relevant to the award. Provide specific evidence, both qualitative and quantitative, to demonstrate how you stand out in terms of the specific award criteria. Consider the profiles and stature of previous recipients as a benchmark.

  3. Emphasize impact beyond academia: Many awards recognize the impact and reach of research beyond the academic realm. Highlight any notable contributions or connections your research has made to the wider society or industry.

  4. Seek inspiration from successful nomination statements: Explore the SFU Applications Library, which features successful nomination statements co-developed by the ISA and the nominee. These examples can inspire and guide you in crafting a compelling and effective nomination.

Teaching contributions are not relevant here.
