|To SFURA members,|
I have been asked to announce two SFU events which will be held in early May at SFU, the Plant Sale & Silent Auction (Wednesday May 9, 11:00 am - 2:30 pm), and a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research, (Friday May 11, 6:15 pm at the Diamond Alumni Club)
A: It's that time of year again. Mark your calendar's for the SFU Plant Sale which will be on Wednesday, May 9th from 11:00 - 2:30 pm in the Cornerstone Square (same as last year's). Please note that this year the sale will take place BEFORE Mother's Day.
As in the past, there will be an Online Auction which will open on May 1st and run until May 11th. More information to follow in the next couple of weeks!
Your plant contribution from your own garden is the backbone of the sale and is always more than welcome. Plants can be dropped off at the Cornerstone Square the morning of the sale. If you have any questions, or need help, please contact Vito Modigliani (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Also, you may wish to donate items to this year's Online Auction. Please contact Sofia Janmohamed at email@example.com or local 5314.
All proceeds from the sale and online auction go to the Campus Community Bursary Endowment Fund. This fund was established in 1997, by SFU faculty and staff and has grown to more than $265,000. Over that past decade, it has provided over $47,000 in bursaries to student's in financial need.
