efficient and effective foreign aid
efficient and effective foreign aid
Hi SFU retirees
Kiva is continuing to be a convenient and effective way to get foreign
aid directly from me [or you ] to an individual farmer or small
business in a developing country. Try it out. Read the business plan of
the borrower before you make a loan. If you don't like the approach then
just withdraw your money. What is to lose?
Individuals making loans via Kiva are at a pace of about $1.1 million
per week.
Giving a hand up to others, rather than just a handout is the whole
objective.
The idea of competing teams is just a gimmick?but rather fun.
Too bad the team from the larger operation at the west end of town is
beating us. However, for us it is not slow and steady it is gaining via
a slightly faster pace that will win for us in the end. I also post
this to the UBC message board to encourage them also. The more loans,
the better the world.
