It is with great sadness that I have to advise you that Ronald Harrop passed away suddenly, at home, on Sunday October 22.  Ronald was the Charter Head of the Department of Mathematics and later held a joint appointment between Mathematics and Computing Science.  Few faculty could have been more generous in their support and more dedicated to the success and development of SFU than Ronald.  A memorial service will take place at 1000 on Saturday 25 November at the Valley View Funeral Home (14644 - 72nd Avenue Surrey, British Columbia V3S 2E7).
