Academic Libraries: Do books matter anymore?

March 20, 2012

Presented by Lynn Copeland, former Head Librarian, SFU

Room 126, Halpern Centre, Burnaby Campus

Academic libraries made the transition from print to largely electronic journals some years ago but print books have continued to be the norm -- until recently. The nature and use of a book for academic purposes is quite different from that of a regular trade book for personal reading. What are the implications for students, faculty and publishers?

All members of the SFU community are welcome to attend this seminar, one of an on-going series organized by the SFU Retirees Association.
