Project Title

Project Description

Suspended Sediment

This project has three primary goals

  1.  testing the utility of low cost remote sensing techniques for monitoring suspended sediment concentrations in remote streams.
  2. mapping sediment distribution in such streams
  3. mapping sediment sources

Shallow Water Bathymetry

This project aims at developing procedure to estimate water depth in shallow streams.  The bathymetry of a river is an important parameter in fish habitat evaluation, sediment monitoring, and fish estimation.

Fish Estimation

The goal of this study is to provide efficient estimates of spawning populations of sockeye salmon. Current ground based counts, though more accurate, are very time consuming and costly; they are not feasible for small populations.
