SAS/AF Software: Class Dictionary

Using the Text Label Class

The Text Label class enables you to create one-line fields containing up to 200 characters of static text that users cannot modify. Text for labels can be altered by SCL program statements (methods or regular SCL assignments), but labels are not selectable and cannot cause statements in labeled sections of SCL programs to execute.

Alternatives to Using the Text Label Class

In pixel-based environments, use the Input Field Label class. (Pixel basis enables you to more precisely place these objects in the window.) For more information see the Input Field Label class.

Also, if you need to create a window label that requires customizing features or functionality that the Text Label class does not provide, you can use the Text Entry class, protect the object from user modification, and assign a value to the object in the Initial Value/Formats window or in the SCL program. For more information see the Text Entry class.
