Moving and Accessing SAS Files across Operating Environments

Supported Members and External Files

You can use SAS/SHARE to access any of these members or external files:

Data set
Catalog and entry
DATA step view
PROC SQL view
SAS/ACCESS view
MDDB (Multi-dimensional Database) file.

SAS/SHARE also supports access to certain third-party database files by means of its Remote SQL Pass-Through facility. You must have SAS/ACCESS software licensed on the remote computer for that database.
