SAS Companion for the OpenVMS Operating Environment

Overview

This section lists and describes operating-environment-dependent messages that you may encounter during a SAS session under OpenVMS. Each message description includes the severity level for the error and information about what you can do to correct the problem.

The messages are grouped according to the operating environment, the host subsystem, the TPU editor, and the concurrency engine.

Messages can be of several different types:

informational
is usually not serious. It simply provides helpful information.

warning
is more serious than informational messages but does not stop processing. Usually, warnings indicate that something works but not the way that you intended.

error
is usually serious and can be caused by either a user mistake or an internal SAS System error. Report internal errors to your SAS Support Consultant.

fatal error
is serious. It stops the SAS System. Fatal errors can be caused by either a user mistake or an internal SAS System error. Report internal errors to your SAS Support Consultant.
