SFU School for the Contemporary Arts

The School for the Contemporary Arts is located in downtown Vancouver, BC, housed across two locations that are part of SFU's multi-building Vancouver Campus. The SCA's main classrooms, studios, shops, and venues are in the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, while upper level Undergraduate and MFA Visual Arts studios, classrooms, and shops are at 611 Alexander Street.

Getting Here

Entrances to the School for the Contemporary Arts are found via the Woodward's Complex courtyard, accessed at the corner of Cambie and Cordova Streets, or the street front doors at 149 West Hastings Street between Abbott and Cambie Streets. View Map

By Car
There is an EasyPark lot located on Cordova Street across from the Woodward's block.

By Transit
We are located on a major bus route and within easy walking distance of SkyTrain and SeaBus. Plan your transit trip at translink.ca or call 604.953.3333.

From East Vancouver: take the #10 Granville (from Kootenay Loop); #8 Downtown (Fraser); or #20 Downtown (Victoria Drive).
From South Vancouver: take the #3 Downtown (Main and Marine); or #16 Arbutus (29th Ave Station).
From Richmond and Vancouver’s west side: take the Canada Line.
From Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam and Port Moody: take the #160 Vancouver.
From North Burnaby: take the #135 Burrard Station.
From North Vancouver: take the SeaBus.
From West Vancouver: take any Blue Bus into downtown Vancouver to its terminus.
From Surrey and New Westminster: Take SkyTrain.

GCA Box Office/Patron Services

The Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (GCA) Box Office is located in the mainfloor lobby, which can be accessed from either the Hastings Street or the Woodward's Complex courtyard entrances. Click here for a Google Map.

The GCA Box Office is open Wednesday to Saturday from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., and one hour prior to each show. To contact our box office, email our Guest Services staff at GCA_Guestservices@sfu.ca or call 778-782-9286. 

Show tickets are available in advance and can be purchased online through the ticket link on the event page. Tickets are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and non-transferable. All sales are final. The presenter is not responsible for any lost or stolen tickets. Resale or attempted resale of any ticket price higher than face value is strictly prohibited.

Door sales open one hour before the show. If a show is not sold out, you may also purchase tickets at the door up until five minutes before the start of the event when ticket sales and pick-up are cut-off. The Box Office is able to accommodate cash, credit card sales, and direct debit. There are ATM’s conveniently located in Nesters Market or London Drugs in the Woodward’s Complex Atrium.

To avoid disappointment, please arrive a minimum 30 minutes before the advertised show time. Events start on time. The presenter reserves the right to refuse admittance to latecomers until an appropriate moment or break in the event.

Please note that food and beverages are not allowed inside the Fei & Milton Wong Experimental Theatre or the Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema. Please note that any form of a recording device is strictly prohibited within our theatres and that all electronic devices must be turned off. No food or beverages are permitted into the theatre.

Washrooms are located on every level with the exception of the Ground Floor Lobby level.

Goldcorp Centre for the Arts supports the hiring of ushers through local community agencies and provides part-time employment for community residents.
