SCA Professional Practice Series: Yvonne Wallace

Postponed.

Please check back for a new date and time.

Yvonne Wallace (Ucwalmicw) joins us to share excerpts from útszan (to make things better), a play dealing with language reclamation and Yvonne's own progress in language fluency. Notably, útszan has grown without the support of public granting programs, instead coming to production through community support. The unique development of this project will be a starting point for a larger conversation around how we might seek to challenge colonial notions of career success in the arts. útszan had its world premiere in September 2019 at the Maury Young Arts Centre (Whistler), and will be presented at the Burnaby Learning Festival in May 2020.

Co-Presented by the SCA Speakers Series and the Professional Practice Series
