Faith Moosang’s Bitter Air

Past SCA visual art grad Faith Moosang's new work, Bitter Air, produced for the Polygon Gallery's Polygon Outside project, received some great press in the North Shore News. Read it here. On her own website, Moonsang introduces the work like this:

Bitter Air is an app-based, site-specific audio/video drama set in a North Vancouver shipyard in 1943. The app was commissioned by Polygon Gallery and will be included in the series of ongoing inaugural launches that coincide with the opening of their new gallery. The app is a “radio” drama with backing video animations that was created after months of archival and primary research into the history of North Vancouver and the Burrard Dry Dock company. The eighty minute drama follows twelve characters that ghost over fourteen different locations on the site of the former shipyard. The piece looks at the socio/economic/political history of the shipyard, delving into union history, women in the industrial workforce, trauma and family.

Bitter Air can be accessed via the Polygon Gallery's app, which is available to download via iTunes and Google Play now.
