Norman Armour, Doctor of Fine Arts

Congratulations! Norman Armour, the co-founder of Vancouver's long-running PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, received a Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa, from the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology at the Spring Convocation, which took place June 14, 2019.

After working at Vancouver's Rumble Theatre for 15 years, Armour founded PuSh with Katrina Dunn in 2003. Retiring from the organization in 2018, Armour is now the North America International Development Manager for the Australia Council for the Arts. In the Fall of 2019, Armour will also be co-teaching CA 381: Thriving as a Cultural Entrepreneur for the SCA, along with Kenji Maeda, who is the Executive Director of the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance (GVPTA) and the Program Manager for artsvest B.C., and Dani Fecko, who is the Director (2019) of the Western Arts Alliance and founder and President of Fascinator Management
