Sky Hopinka in Hyperallergic

The SCA's Sky Hopinka was interviewed in the online arts magazine Hyperallergic by Dan Schindel, in advance of the first retrospective of Hopinka's work in Los Angeles on May 2, 2019, The Ethnopoetic Cinema of Sky Hopinka, hosted jointly by LACMA and Acropolis Cinema. The interview covers Hopinka's experimental film practice and also discusses his role as one of the curators of the film program for the 2019 iteration of the Whitney Biennial. What Was Always Yours and Never Lost, Hopinka's curated program of films on Septeber 20 and 21, is one of three weekends of film programming organized as part of the Biennial, which runs May 17 – Sepember 22.
