TPE nominated for Classical Ensemble of the Year

Vancouver's Turning Point Ensemble – conducted by the SCA's Owen Underhill, who's also the TPE's Artistic Director – have been nominated for Classical Artist / Ensemble of the Year for the 2019 Western Canadian Music Awards. If you're a member of a western Provincial or Territorial Music Industry Association, online voting for all award categories ends midnight, Pacific Time, on Friday, May 17. Winners of all of the "artistic categories" will be announced Thursday, October 3 at the WCMA Award Reception in Whitehorse, Yukon. Good luck, Owen and the Turning Point Ensemble! The Turning Point Ensemble are also presenting Sounds Unheard on May 11 and 12, 2019, in the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre here at SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts. Co-presented by SFU Woodward's, the performance is a "portrait concert" of the work of Canadian/Tajik composer Farangis Nurulla-Khoja.
