Peter Dickinson’s Long Division

Pi Theatre, in association with The Gateway, presents the world premiere of Long Division, a new play by SCA Professor Peter Dickinson.

Long Division is a multimedia, physical theatre piece about the mathematics of human connection. Seven characters struggle to explain their tragic entanglement using the language of geometry and logic, but find that one emotional variable consistently remains unsolved.

SFU Repertory Dancers: 5 New Works

5 New Works showcases SFU’s SCA repertory dancers in an evening of highly-charged, physical dance works by guest chorographers and SFU faculty, featuring new music, videography and text.

Choreographers include KT Niehoff from Seattle — this year’s Iris Garland Visiting Guest Choreographer — as well as Vancouver-based dance artists Ziyian Kwan and Chengxin Wei, and dance faculty Rob Kitsos and Cheryl Prophet. The evening also features music by Stefan Smulovitz and videography by Lara Amelie Abadir.

Maria Irene Fornes wrote The Danube in 1982. Julie Hammond directs this staging with performers Patrick Blenkarn, Simon Garez, Dominique Hat, and Nicola Rough, dramaturgy by Robert Leveroos, designer collaborators Matthew Ariaratnam, Terra Deng, Sasha Ivanochko, Shahlla Karmali, Josie Lee, Jake Lindsay, Ian McFarlane, and support from the Magyar Szinhaz.
