Exhibition: In Circulation

Part of the 2017 Capture Photography Festival

07 April 2017 – 28 April 2017, 9:00am
TBA, 1000 - 4000 levels, SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, 149 West Hastings Street, Vancouver BC

Exhibition: In Circulation

In Circulation examines the university as a public site for the deconstruction and reconstruction of knowledge. Post-secondary study fosters the development of new modes for students to be able to see and relate to one another. And as students begin to question their existing modes of thinking and perception, they also discover new modes for interpersonal organization and production. Installed throughout SFU at the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, In Circulation comprises photographic interventions throughout the School for the Contemporary Arts. This spatial arrangement, experienced in whole or in part, presents multiple perspectives that expose the participating artists’ movements through time, the university, and the changing circumstances of their (un)shared experiences.

Curated by Oscar Alfonso and Joni Cheung.

Peter Dickinson’s Long Division

Peter Dickinson’s Long Division

Long Division uses text, multimedia, and physical theatre to create a play about the mathematics of human connection. The play focuses on seven characters linked – sometimes directly, sometimes more obliquely – by a sequence of tragic events. These characters offer lessons on number theory, geometry and logic, while revealing aspects of their inner lives, and collectively the nature of their relationships to one another.
