Science Rendezvous & International Astronomy Day
Science Rendezvous is the largest science festival in Canada that seeks to engage the public (and especially kids!) through interactive science activities, demonstrations, and laboratory experiences at various locations across Canada every year on the Saturday before Mother's Day.
Thank you to the thousands of participants who attended this year's action-filled event. We hope to see you in 2018!
SFU is not responsible for the supervision of children at public events. Children should be accompanied by an adult at all times.
This event may be photographed and/or video recorded by Simon Fraser University for archival, educational and related promotional purposes. By attending or participating in these events, you are giving your consent to be photographed and/or video recorded.
If you do not wish to be photographed and/or video recorded, please let us know and move to the side prior to the shoot.
Free Science Activities at SFU for K- 12 Students!
Every year SFU’s Faculty of Science brings thousands of school children and youth to its Burnaby campus to learn about science. Students are invited to participate in more than 20 free workshops that complement BC elementary and high school curricula and range in discipline from physics, chemistry, biology, molecular biology, statistics, earth science, math, astronomy, anatomy, kinesiology and more.
SFU also offers teacher workshops, virtual workshops, lab tours, panel discussions with faculty members, career exploration, science fair judging and tours of the Trottier Observatory.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more inquiries or to register your group of at least 20. Coordinate with your child’s school/teacher to book activities as a class.
