Dean of Science
Ruth oversees Science Stores, Science Technical Centre, Environmental Medicine & Physiology Unit, and the Faculty of Science IT group. She also coordinates the development, renovation and assignment of space and serves as the Faculty of Science safety representative.
Theresa works as part of the Advancement team to meet the Faculty's philanthropic goals.
Cheryl works with Faculty of Science researchers, teachers, staff, students, donors and alumni to achieve the Faculty’s vision and philanthropic goals.
Cynthia is responsible for the administration and coordination of Science Outreach programs for children, youth and adults. She assists with fundraising, marketing, delivery, evaluation, budget and logistics for all 20 programs.
Theresa works with faculty members to develop competitive research grants applications.
Andrew schedules appointments and maintains the calendars for the Dean, Associate Deans, and Director, Administration and Strategic Planning. He also provides administrative and senior secretarial support to senior administrators in the Faculty of Science Dean’s Office.
Erin coordinates and processes all faculty appointments, renewals, tenure and promotion, salary reviews and faculty leaves and provides clerical support for the management and administration of faculty programs and services. She provides advice in the application and administration of the SFUFA Collective Agreement and academic policies governing all academic personnel within the Faculty of Science and its Departments.
Alan is responsible for the ongoing development, data extraction and End User Support for the FacSIMS SQL database.
Diane is responsible for internal and external communications for web, digital and print formats. She also handles press, photography and social media.
Sachi provides support in managing, processing, and troubleshooting various accounts and day-to-day transactions in the Dean of Science Office.
Rachel coordinates the front office, handles telephone and in-person queries and assists with event coordination.
Kathryn oversees recruitment, retention, and admission planning and enrolment management for the Faculty of Science.
Susanne is responsible for the overall management of budgets, human resources, enrolment, retention and admission planning, administrative systems and supervision of Dean's office staff.
Arlene provides support for the financial reporting and budgeting process in the Dean's office. She is also a resource for best practices in Finance procedures and policies.
Eileen is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences with research interests in Earth science education and public awareness of science. As Special Advisor to the Dean on Public Education and Outreach she works to promote the culture of public engagement in the Faculty of Science and is building partnerships to support K-12 science education.
Claire works with prospective undergraduates and applicants to the Faculty of Science and represents the Faculty at recruitment events on and off campus.
