On January 25th, 2022, Scottish Studies Director Leith Davis spoke to News Talk 980 CKNW about who Robert Burns really was. He was a labouring class farmer who became a successful poet, and in so many ways the things he wrote about still resonate with us today. His poetry and songs discuss environmentalism, the equality of all people, and even touch on mental health issues, like his own depression.

Professor Davis also went on to discuss what Burns' legacy was immediately after his death, and what his legacy is today. Also, what exactly happens at a Burns supper, and what is haggis made of? To listen to the entire interview, click on the links below.
