Master's Student, Sustainable Energy Engineering

Elias is a masters student of Sustainable Energy Engineering at SFU, working with ΔE+ research group. He completed his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and MBA in finance from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has more than 10 years of industry experience. He worked for the government power utilities in Bangladesh for more than 6 years and has firsthand experience in power system capacity expansion, planning and optimization.

His primary field of research is integrated energy system modeling and model interlinking, and his work is part of the decarbonization of BC’s Energy System by PICS.

Elias is enthusiastic about working in multidisciplinary areas especially the techno-commercial aspects of energy system modeling. He believes that the integrated and open-source modelling will inevitably portray better guidance for policy makers and shall enable the independent researchers to utilize the mature models at any scale.
