Biography

Pierre McWhannel is a current Ph.D. student with a strong research focus at the intersection of machine learning and energy system modeling. Prior to joining ΔE+, Pierre completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at BCIT and obtained a Master of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo.

With a keen interest in the ongoing decarbonization of global energy systems, Pierre recognizes the importance of leveraging advanced modeling frameworks to drive investments in the most effective way possible. His research is currently focused on exploring how energy system models can be optimized to capture the key information necessary for making robust investment decisions.

By combining his expertise in machine learning and energy systems, Pierre is well-positioned to contribute to the development of novel modeling techniques that can help shape the future of sustainable energy.
