Summer 2020 Evaluation Reports were changed to reflect:
- University-level questions were modified to clarify that the instruction was remote, not in-person.
- Faculty and Department/School-level questions were not included
The reports also contain a statement noting that evaluation results were collected during a rapid shift to remote instruction and should be interpreted in this context and with fairness. Click here for more information.
The Faculty report is viewable by instructors, department chairs or program directors, Faculty deans, and any administrative staff that review reports as a part of their work flows within the department, program or Faculty. The Faculty report contains the following sections:
Section 1: Who responded?
This section gives some information about the students who responded to the course evaluation, aggregated across all courses in the Faculty. It is intended to help you understand the limits and generalizability of the statistics presented. Click here for more information about how response rate, perceived course difficulty, course engagement and students’ overall experience impact evaluation responses.
Section 2: Faculty questions
This section contains responses to questions created by the Faculty to which the course belongs to reflect discipline-specific teaching and learning values. These questions appear on every SETC form for courses in this Faculty. Responses are aggregated across all courses in the Faculty.
Section 3: University questions
This section contains responses to questions created by the Office of the Vice President, Academic, in collaboration with the SFU community, to reflect the teaching and learning values of SFU. These questions appear on every SETC form. Part one of this section focuses on students’ experiences with the course instructor, and part two focuses on their responses. Responses are aggregated across all courses in the university.
