Welcome Belinda, our new Educational Specialist, Sexual Violence Prevention

We are excited to share that Belinda Karsen (she/her/hers) will be joining the Sexual Violence Support & Prevention Office (SVSPO) as SFU’s Educational Specialist, Sexual Violence Prevention in July 2020.

Belinda is joining SFU from the University of the Fraser Valley, where she has worked since 2016 as a Student Transition and Engagement Coordinator. In this role, Belinda was the project lead for UFV’s sexualized violence prevention program as well as New Student Orientation. Belinda has a B.A. in French from UBC, an M.A. in English from York University, and is A.B.D in a Ph.D. in English from York. Her interdisciplinary doctoral research examined representations of traumatic memory in contemporary Canadian literature. Belinda is energized by collaborative projects, new ideas, and bold espresso and is looking forward to contributing to the SFU community.
