Upcoming Teaching & Learning Discussions

WRITING EXAMS

Tuesday June 7th, 2011
Room: “fishbowl” Room 11002, Blusson Hall, SFU
Time: noon to 1:00, bring your lunch

Come and share your experiences, questions and/or insights about your examination approaches and challenges in courses you are teaching or have taught. We hope to exchange ideas by exploring these questions:

- What type of examination approaches are you using that are working well? why? (bring a sample exam!)

- What is not working as well as you had hoped? why? (give an example)

- How can we write discriminating questions?

- How can we decrease our reliance on multiple choice examinations for large classes?

This is an informal discussion and all are welcome.  Barb Berry will help us facilitate this conversation.
