Flu Vaccine Availability Update Nov 27, 2009

This is to note new and changed flu clinic times.

All BC residents are now eligible for H1N1 vaccine free of charge with an MSP card (i.e. CareCard).

Seasonal flu vaccine is available as per previous years – free of charge to those who meet public health criteria or $20 to those who do not meet the criteria and choose to receive it.   See http://www.immunizebc.ca/ImmVacPrevDis/influenza.htm for more detail.

Note: Vaccine and times are limited on any given day.  It will be distributed until the end of the clinic or until vaccine runs out, whichever comes first.  Lines have been forming early.  If you have questions, ask the assistant handing out the forms at the clinic.

Pregnant women should discuss the vaccine and risks with their family doctor and will require a doctor’s note for the SFU clinics.

Please see http://www.sfu.ca/vaccinations/?feed=rss2 for the latest SFU information on availability and clinics.  If you are experiencing flu like symptoms or have concerns about the flu or the vaccines, please contact HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 or visit their website http://www.healthlinkbc.ca.
