ORBIS Pull for Sight 2010

Date: Saturday, May 15, 2010
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Location: Vancouver International Airport – FedEx Apron
Address: 3151 Aylmer Road, Richmond, BC V7B 1L5

Each year almost half a million children go blind. That’s approximately one child every minute. – ORBIS Canada

The ORBIS Pull for Sight 2010 is a team competition to see which group can pull a FedEx cargo airplane the fastest. There is NO registration fee, but each team MUST raise a minimum of $1,000. This means that for a team of 20 members, each member has to raise a minimum of $50. All the money raised goes towards supporting ORBIS’s Kids Sight program that benefits blind and visually impaired children throughout the developing world.

Let’s PULL together to eliminate preventable blindness and transform the lives of blind and visually impaired children from around the world. – ORBIS Canada

Teams are made up of 20 members. Each team will pull the aircraft for 12 feet, and the team that finishes in the shortest amount of time wins. Anyone over 14 years of age is welcome to participate. Just gather 20 of your co-workers, friends or family.

The pull is open to corporate groups, service organizations, churches and school groups – anyone who can organize a group and get people motivated to try something new and fun! Friends and family members are welcome to come as well to cheer the teams!

The ORBIS Pull for Sight 2010 will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia. There is ample free parking on the FedEx Apron grounds. The event area opens at 10:00am with the actual pulls occurring between 10:30am and 12:30 pm. The event will take place rain or shine.  So sign up, come out and bring your friends!
