“We’re building this program because we believe that a better world is not just possible, but an imperative.” –

From now until September 12th 2010, you have the opportunity to apply for an exciting and challenging leadership program that will be running in Vancouver from October 2010 to April 2011.  This six-month intensive program is open to all young, social change activists between the ages of 18 and 32.  During the program, participants will have the opportunity to meet with some of the province’s leading change-makers, while becoming equipped with the skills and tools needed to become an effective leader in movements for social and environmental change.

This year marks the fourth year of Next Up leadership in BC, the second in Alberta, and the first in Saskatchewan.  With only thirteen participants selected for each regional program, the application process is competitive, but because it is a small group, participants end up forming life-long bonds with their peers as they work closely together on various social change projects.  At the end of the program, all present and past participants will be invited to attend the Next Up Gathering in May or June of 2011, taking place this year in Edmonton, Alberta.

The program is also free!  And if you live outside of Vancouver, they may be able to help you with travel costs, so distance shouldn’t stop you from applying either.
