Support Mental Health Awareness by Volunteering with the Canadian Mental Health Association

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is a charitable organization that works to support those with mental illnesses as well as promote awareness about mental health.  Currently, their Simon Fraser branch is looking for volunteers to help organize their first annual charity walk and run.

The Miles for Mental Health Walk and Run will take place in May 2011, and volunteers are needed in all aspects to help organize this huge event.  This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who is interested in the health care field, gaining some experience in event planning or if you would like to improve your leadership skills.  It is also a great platform to get involved in the community and contribute to an amazing cause.  There are a wide variety of volunteer positions available, with a high degree of flexibility in terms of time commitment, ranging anywhere from 2 hours to 15 hours per week.

If you are interested and would like to support this cause and volunteer, contact Madeleine Hawkins at sf.runlogistics@cmha.bc.ca or call 604-516-8080 for more details.
