Simon Fraser University’s largest photo contest is back, with bigger prizes than ever! In the past, the Work Integrated Learning Photo Contest has gathered 1,300 entries and provided numerous amazing photographs, showcasing the experiences of students throughout the world.
There are five categories for submissions, and one of them is for Volunteer& Civic Engagement. Perhaps you volunteer for a non-profit society cleaning up the shoreline. Or perhaps you’re involved in advocacy, politics or other civic engagement activities. Show us how you’re getting engaged with your community and you could win some great prizes. This year’s prizes include a Macbook Pro, a Nikon D3000 Digital SLR Camera, and SFU Bookstore gift certificates.
If you’re currently not volunteering, check out Symplicity for some awesome opportunities. To get involved with your community, make sure you read articles in this blog for some happenings around town. Don’t forget about the resources available on the SFU Volunteer Services website. Also, be sure to check out the winners from the 2008 contest to get some inspiration.
This contest runs from September 7 to November 24, 2010. For more information, check out the official rules. Make sure you follow WIL on Facebook and Twitter for updates and other special announcements.
