Are you interested in helping the community while also getting practical work experience? Would you like to improve your skills and make a difference at the same time? If so, come out to the SFU Volunteer & Civic Engagement Fair 2010 and network with organizations that have some great volunteer opportunities.
This year, the fair in Burnaby is on September 22, 2010 in the South AQ from 10:30am -2:30 pm. In Surrey, the fair is on September 29th, 2010 in the Mezzanine from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Everyone is invited – this fair is open to all SFU students from all faculties.
This year’s theme is “Be the change: Make a difference in the world by getting engaged with organizations that serve the communities of the Lower Mainland”. SFU students have a long history of being engaged citizens on campus and in the greater community, and the Volunteer and Civic Engagement Fair is an opportunity to highlight the importance of engaged citizenship and to promote the opportunities that are available to students.
SFU Volunteer Services partnered with Volunteer Burnaby to bring the event. Almost 40 non-profit organizations will be visiting SFU to let students know how they can get involved. For more information about the fair, please visit the official site.
We hope to see you at this year’s fair!
