Pull the Plug and Support Media Democracy

Pull the Plug is a fundraiser for Media Democracy Day 2010. The concert, which will be co-hosted by Media Democracy Day Vancouver and Vancouver is Awesome.com, happens at The Railway Club on October 14th, 2010.

If you like amazing music, awesome prizes, and democracy and media, then you can’t miss this concert. Pull the Plug will feature the following local artists:

- Jasper Sloan Yip, a Vancouver-based singer/songwriter.

- Yes Nice, a top 20 finalists in the Peak Performance Project- an annual artist development competition run by the Peak 100.5 FM and Music BC.

- 41st and Home, a lush, orchestral, folk-tinged dream pop band, who was also a top 20 contender the Peak Performance Project

Cover is $10, and doors open at 8:30pm. The concert starts at 9:30pm.

All proceeds go to fund Media Democracy Day (MDD) Vancouver. This year, MDD will play host to nearly 30 local media and activist organizations, panel discussions and workshop sessions led by some of the province’s leading authorities on media issues, and a keynote address by Tony Burman, senior executive of the Americas for Al Jazeera English. Please visit the MDD Facebook page for a full listing of speakers and exhibitors.

Local music is great. Democratic media is also great. Come party with MDD to support both!
