Well, now is the perfect excuse to go out and be a little daring while supporting a great cause. Join the SFU DARE team and help raise funds for AIDS support in Africa.
A Dare to Remember is an innovative campaign organized by the Stephen Lewis Foundation to shine light on all the hardships that a person with AIDS has to face in Africa. Throughout the course of this campaign, people all over the country will be embracing their adventurous sides and facing their fears in an effort to parallel the acts of courage and strength displayed by all the men, women and children living with AIDS in Africa.
If you would like to be a part of this amazing event, join SFU’s Dare team. As a member, you get your own personal fundraising page where you can describe your dare in detail and raise money. Also, if you don’t have a specific dare in mind, you can always join any of the “team dares” which will be running through October 19-23 as part of Dare Week. These events will continue from October 19 all the way through to December 1, which is World AIDS Day. So you have plenty of time. Start deciding what you want to do.
Last year, SFU’s Dare team raised $22,584 – the largest amount on any campus in Canada! So join this year and help them surpass last year’s phenomenal amount. Everyone is welcome to join and make a contribution. If you have any questions or comments, send an e-mail to email@example.com. Also, be sure to check out their Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=180249971158 and follow all their activities.
