As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women, but what you may not know is that it affects men as well. More women are affected than men but nonetheless, it can be fatal for both. This is why raising awareness is so important.
So by now you’re probably wondering what is the connection with Facebook? Well, if you’ve logged on recently, you may have seen some of your female friends with seemingly odd status updates such as “I like it on the floor” or “I like it on the couch,” etc.
No, they are not referring to what you’re thinking. They are actually talking about where they like to put their handbags.
This seems like an odd way of generating awareness for breast cancer but studies have shown this to be quite effective. It gets people talking and asking questions, which can lead to generating buzz about the cause.
It’s not quite known how this campaign started, but it has already gone viral! So ladies, if you’re on Facebook, try it out and see what kind of responses you get.
Have a little fun while creating awareness for breast cancer.
