Building a Better Future for Children in BC – The Show of Hearts Telethon 2011

Variety: The Children’s Charity will be hosting its 45th annual Show of Hearts Telethon from 7:00pm on February 12th until 6:00pm on February 13th.

Variety is “a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to raising funds and distributing grants throughout British Columbia to inspire hope, enrich lives, and build a better future for children who have special needs. Since 1965, Variety has raised more than $155 million, all of which stays in the province of BC.”

This annual fundraiser features great entertainment and stories from children around BC who have benefited from Variety’s efforts.

The event is being held at the Red Robinson Show Theatre in Coquitlam this year, and Variety needs volunteers! “Every year, over 2,700 volunteers donate their time,” and this February you can be a part of the joy! Types of volunteer positions include:

In order to volunteer, just fill out the form seen here and wait to be contacted to see if you’ve been selected. A complete list of positions offered is shown on the registration form.

If you don’t have the time to volunteer next month, don’t forget to donate to the children. The wonderful thing about Variety is that it’s local. All the proceeds donated are given to help children throughout the province of British Columbia – a place we lovingly call home. Any amount helps and will put a smile on the face of a child in need!
