Originally brought to life in 2009, Illuminate Yaletown brings the talent of light artists to its heritage district. The display of interactive light installations will showcase the talents of the artist in an event that strengthens community bond and spirit.
This free winter party was on hiatus last year during the 2010 Olympics, so its reintroduction to the city will also be celebrating the one-year anniversary of Vancouver’s tremendous efforts.
You can expect to see installations by artists from:

IY is also hosting a Flickr Photo Contest. Visitors to the exhibit may submit a photo from the eventtheto the Photo Contest Group. The contest is open from the night of the exhibit, February 11, until March 6th. The contest was designed to encourage Vancouverites to appreciate the beauty of the city and the exhibit. The contest winner receivesa $500 worth of prizes. Full contest details can be found here.
