Fashion’s Night OUT Vancouver

Bullying is still one of the biggest issues facing many queer teenagers today. In fact, just last year, a string of gay-related suicides have placed the issue on the forefront. Homophobia and bullying are still prevalent, which makes initiatives such as the It Gets Better campaign all more important.

The battle against bullying is far from over, and an upcoming Vancouver event is hoping to raise funds for a local organization addressing the issue. Fashion’s Night OUT is a fundraiser that benefits Out in Schools, a non-profit that brings queer films to local high schools in the hopes of facilitating discussion with youth on bullying, homophobia and stereotypes,

Tickets to the event cost $20. Admission covers a fashion show, a cocktail reception, a silent auction, live DJ, and exclusive gift bags.  The full detail events are as follows:

You can purchase your ticket through Eventbrite. If you can’t attend the event and would still like to support the cause, here are some ideas of what you can do instead:

- Volunteer for Out in Schools and help deliver the organization’s program. You can also volunteer for events or help out with fundraising.
- Donate directly to Out in Schools.
- Visit Out on Campus at SFU for other resources regarding this topic.
