Fresh Start Vancouver is a North Vancouver based volunteer organization created and run by the women of Fresh Air Life. Among their different volunteer endeavors include: Women on Wheels providing friendship and fitness to seniors around the city, Mission Possible helping those living in the downtown eastside, and Fit Club.
Fit Club is run primarily by high school and university students to spend time with and encourage Special Olympic Athletes to get outside and stay fit. Fit Club runs throughout the summer and is looking for volunteers for the next few months. Fit Club is based out of Parkgate Village in North Vancouver, but often activities take place in the surrounding Deep Cove neighbourhood. In the past Fit Club has taken place once a week on a weekday afternoon. It’s a great volunteer opportunity if you don’t have a lot of time to spare as it is not a big time commitment. However, it’s a great way to get outside, make friends through volunteering, and have a fun afternoon!
For more information about volunteering, contact Jennifer who created and currently runs all of the programs in both Fresh Air Life and Fresh Start Vancouver. If you’re looking for a fun easy way to volunteer, email Jennifer at email@example.com. So get excited, get outside and meet new friends!
