Seeing optimistic ‘statuses’ on social media sites (like Facebook and Twitter), movements to help fix our city, and how the police attempted to settle the situation, I can’t help but feel empowered that there are still many positive and engaged citizens in this city.
So let’s continue this involvement by preventing crime. The Citizens Crime Watch Patrol is looking for volunteers to help act as extra “eyes and ears” for the police.
Although the link I’ve posted is specifically for the Vancouver police department, the Citizens Crime Watch Patrol is also established in most cities in the Lower Mainland (e.g. Richmond, Surrey etc.) – so volunteer in the city most convenient to you!
How it Works

As a volunteer, you will be trained in the following:
If this volunteer opportunity attracts you, don’t hesitate to try it out! Be sure to visit their website at http://vancouver.ca/police/community-policing/citizens-crime-watch.html for extra details and to sign up (note: this website is only for the Vancouver Citizens Crime Watch – for other cities, please visit their separate websites).
Feel free to leave any questions or comments!
