Starting this Tuesday, July 5 a new outdoor activity is hitting Stanley Park. Fresh Air Cinemas and Chevron are joining together for the Summer Cinema Series. Movies will be screened every Tuesday night during July and August on Second Beach in the park. The movies are all classics that include Jaws, Pretty Woman, E.T., and everyone’s favourite; Jurassic Park. This is an awesome opportunity to grab your lawn chairs and popcorn, enjoy the warm weather and watch an old film favourite.
A huge bonus is the event is free, so if you are looking for an inexpensive fun summer event this is it. However, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank will be collecting monetary donations and non-perishable food items. The food bank often has difficulty collecting donations during the summer since it’s not the holiday season when most people tend to get generous. Bringing a few cans of food down is an easy way to help out one of Vancouver’s most important charities. For ideas on what to bring you can check out their website to see a list of their most needed items.
So bring your friends, blankets, food donations and settle in for blockbusters on the beach.
