“Buy A Net, Save A Life”

Want to help reduce malaria transmission in Africa? You can by making a $10 donation to UNICEF’s “Spread the Net” campaign this Friday! The campaign was launched by CBC’s Rick Mercer back in September at SFU’s Burnaby campus.

Your generous donation will help continue SFU’s position as the top fundraising school both in the West and nationally. If we keep this up until February 26th, 2010, SFU will receive a personal visit from Mercer himself and be featured on his show!

As part of the fundraising efforts, Dr. Carl Lowenberger, who researches tropical diseases including malaria, will be placing his arm in a glass container filled with mosquitoes. You’re invited to watch him squirm as hundreds of mosquitoes feast on his arm.

Join in on the action and donate your $10:
Friday, November 27
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Academic Quadrangle (south side, near entrance of Biology wing)

During this event, for every $10 donation you make you will receive a certificate. With Christmas just around the corner, this can serve as a unique and meaningful gift for your special someone (or yourself)!
