Film student Dylan Innes’ film Mandriod won the Best Short Film award (post-secondary) at the 2011 Surrey Film Festival. Earlier this year, Innes and SFU student Kial Natale shared a $10,000 prize for winning Virgin Radio Vancouver’s inaugural Fake Film Festival for their re-creation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Mandriod will now compete at the Emerging Filmmakers Forum in Beverly Hills, CA later this summer. For more: www.surreyfilmfest.ca.
