Former SFU chancellor Milton Wong (1999–2005), a financier, philanthropist and humanitarian, has been inducted into the Junior Achievement of BC business hall of fame. Wong, an Order of Canada member, founded M.K. Wong & Associates in 1980 and served as chair of HSBC Global Asset Management Canada after HSBC acquired his company in 1996. A longtime SFU patron, Wong and his wife Fei donated $3 million to help relocate SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts in January 2010 to the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts in Vancouver’s historic Woodward’s district. The centre’s Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre was so named to acknowledge their support.
