Sarah Dench, director of university curriculum and institutional liaison, is assuming the role of executive director, international, for a one-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2013.

She will be responsible for the strategic vision and coordination of international education and engagement initiatives.

Dench joined SFU in 2000, working in a variety of roles in Student Services and in the office of the VP-Academic.

With more than 20 years' experience in post-secondary education, she has extensive experience in planning and policy and academic affairs and has led several SFU special projects, including implementing the WQB curricula and creating new faculties.

Dench holds degrees from the University of Victoria and SFU.
