Pat Hibbitts, SFU’s VP Finance and Administration, was honoured by her peers this month with a Ken Clements Distinguished Administrator Award from The Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO).

The award is CAUBO’s most prestigious honour, recognizing an administrator who has made an extraordinary contribution to the advancement of higher education administration and demonstrated outstanding leadership in CAUBO.

Hibbitts served on the CAUBO board for eight years, including a stint as president in 2009/10, and continues to participate on numerous committees. She is also a frequent presenter at CAUBO conferences.

Last year, CAUBO recognized her with an Outstanding Contributor award for her work on a team that developed CAUBO’s first online course on university culture and governance.

“I am thrilled to be recognized by my peers nationally,” says Hibbitts, who also finds time to sit as a board member of the SFU Community Trust, the Great Northern Way Trust and, for the past five years, the Tswassen First Nation Economic Development Corporation.
