Know an excellent teacher? Here’s your chance to have them recognized

Do you know an SFU faculty member who is innovative, passionate and works hard to engage students' interest? This is your chance to have them recognized.

Nominations are being accepted until Oct. 15 for SFU’s annual Excellence in Teaching Awards.

All continuing full and part-time faculty members (tenured and tenure-track professors, lecturers and lab instructors) who have taught a minimum of five years in a continuing position at SFU are eligible to be nominated.

To make a nomination, include your name, signature, address, telephone number, and reasons why your nominee is deserving of this award, and write to:

The committee will select three winners based upon the following criteria:

  • Ability to stimulate students to think creatively and critically
  • Demonstrated caring for student learning
  • Ability to present complex information clearly
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for, and innovation in, teaching
  • Sustained record of excellent teaching
  • Diversity of courses
