SFU policy experts tapped for federal climate change panel

Four climate change policy experts from Simon Fraser University have been appointed to a new independent national research organization.

Deborah Harford, executive director of SFU’s Adaptation to Climate Change; Nancy Olewiler, director of and professor in SFU’s School of Public Policy; and professor Mark Jaccard (School of Resource and Environmental Management); join SFU economics professor emeritus Richard Lipsey in the newly created Climate Institute for Climate Choices.

According to their website, the Canadian Institute for Climate Choices is “an unparalleled collaboration of experts from a diverse range of disciplines and organizations across the country.”

The group will undertake independent research, analysis and engagement to bring clarity to the climate challenges and policy in Canada.
